Lynne (China) Bell

Screenwriter, Playwright, Filmmaker, Producer, Director, Editor, Singer/Songwriter and Author (2005)

 

Born on August 14, 1956, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Lynne Bell was an amateur poet as a child and always dreamed of being an actress. After ending a marriage of 32 years, she decided to live her dreams by taking on a lead roles in a film called, “Stripped”, directed by Hezikiah Lewis and then becoming an extra in films such as, “Law Abiding Citizen”, with Jamie Foxx, “The Silver Lining Playbook, with Jennifer Lewis and a Philadelphia native, Bradley Cooper, Political Animals, with Sigourney Weaver and Cover, with Vivica Fox. Her experience as an extra gave her the itch to begin writing again, so she wrote her first stage play, “I Know God Hears My Prayers and put the production on at her church.  It was a success, especially with the Senior Saint of the congregation. 

 

They thanked her for reminding them of the importance of sharing their own experiences as a victim and now survivor of Abuse.  In 2010, she wrote and self-published her first book, “Is Someone Hurting You”, a guide for parents to use to teach children how to recognize the signs of abuse.  She also co-wrote and produced and performed on a cd, “Lynne, Music of a Different Style”.
